Blinking red screen?

Why does the screen sometimes begin to blink red? I don't see any indication on my characters' status pages that there's anything wrong with them. ???

If any character has a status effect which causes them to loose life while walking around the screen blinks red.
I can't remember if there are other ways where the screen can blink red though.

Are you sure that none of your chars is poisoned? That's the only thing that did the red-blinking thingie for me.

I noticed sometimes you could be poisoned but due to other effects/statuses it didn't always show when you looked at the character status, so I'd check their hp walk a little and see who lost some that way I knew, alternatively I would just apply the healling agents until one of them took it
