Orbs Question

If I spend my orbs, I read they won't transfer to MM2, but if I don't spend them, will they carry over?

No. I tested this and verified that they do not carry over. So if you don't use them you lose them.
Items carry over but not money, so spend your orbs and your money and keep your items.

Please forgiveme if I have their names wrong and/or missed one, trying to go by memory.
Does it matter when I spend them?
Should I wait till I have all 4 party members before using them since they won't move on to the 2nd one?
Should I spend before I get all 4 party members?

That's entirely up to you when and how you spend them.
I don't remember how many I had of each. It really depends on how well you explored all of the areas. It was upward of 100 of each but I don't have an exact number.
