Book of Winter

I have two quests - one to put the book of winter back on the shelf at one of the guilds and one to give it to the lady in the hotel - which place to put ?
Tried to put in guild and then "borrow" it back lol but that doesn't work. Then went back to previous save and gave it to
Beatrice at Grand Hotel thinking maybe she had put it back in the guild - wrong!
So, what's the deal?
