Hi, hoping someone can help. I just downloaded the trial for Millennium 2 (after having bought A New Hope on bigfish games and really enjoying it) but when I import my game save file, it won't let me change the mode of play. I played through the first game in easy mode but felt there was quite a bit I missed out on and wanted to try Millennium 2 in normal mode.

Only, when I select "normal" at the start of the game, my characters all still have "EASY" next to their names. Thought maybe I had made a mistake with my save file somehow, so downloaded the one kindly provided by Dee on here, but the same thing happened (although that save file leaves me stuck in "HARD" mode, and don't really want to jump straight from easy mode to hard mode).

I read a post where someone said it was possible to change the mode, so I'm a little stumped as to why it isn't working for me. If anyone can shed any light on this, I'd really appreciate it.

BTW Indy, if you read this, I LOVE your games :-) There's always so much to do and explore, it's impossible to get bored, ever. Don't know how you do it, but your hard work is really appreciated (and if it's of any interest to you, I discovered your games on BigFish)

It should work.
I've just tested an import and picked Very Easy and on a second try Hard and both appeared properly.

Just tried again, on different computer and also called a friend and asked them to try too (with the "hard" mode save file posted on this forum) and it didn't work for either of us. Both still stuck in the mode the imported save file was in, even after selecting a different mode after the introduction.

So I'm stumped as to why you can do it with no probs and I can't (and nor can the other person who posted in this topic, it would seem).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Alright it's totally weird but going from Hard to Normal does not work indeed despite being well coded.
I think the program "jumps" the command so I added it to a place further down in the programmation list of events and that time it worked for me even Hard -> Normal. I'm kinda pushing the machine to do what it should do, Gravitron anyone? lol

Anyway, when I upload the new version it will contain this fix and I hope it will work for everyone since it does for me.

Until then you may want to tackle Hard Mode since Dee's file has powerful items.

I went back after the game came out and dumped all of my money and bought everything I could buy. I'll do the same when MM3 comes out except I will have two saves ready. One with dumped money and one without just in case you decide to get tricky on us.

Oh and one more thing. I sorta think we are being penalized for playing all of the games. We paid for the training and promotions in MM1 and then had to pay again in MM2. Isn't that double dipping????

not penalyzed since all files start with the same money and same conditions status wise
u lose some advantages earnt in MM1 but also keep some, like all the inventory
which, in a game full of secrets like MM1, is no little thing (fairy love, holy sword, myst armors etc)

but compared to a non-imported file u have only advantages and no disadvantage at all.

Glad you finally ran into the same problem! (well, not glad, but at least I know I'm not losing my mind - well not JUST yet anyway).

Decided to just keep going in easy mode, and I'm hooked. Guess I now have to stick this game into my budget for next fortnight when I get paid
