I have read the posts and looked at Surfer Granny's pics and I am at a total loss.

Posts say to go NW of Dee, but Granny shows East........to the funny rune thingy......

Please help.

Also, what was I to purchase to eat b4 entering?

There are 2 things you need to do in the swamp. One is east, and one is northwest.

Is there a reason why O do not see the Rune thingy? All I see is the marker post !?

You need the Magical Orb of Truth to see it.

No, not for the runes, they should be visible anyway.

Not sure what you mean by rune. Are you talking about the triangular like
candle stands?

Also, whether it's important to the progress of the game I don't know because I lit (by hitting) all the rectangular lights (we had to in MM1 so I did it here too) and they gave off a lovely sound and glowed brighter.

those are firefly crystals, they were already there in MM1

I KNOW they were there in MM1.... I just didn't try doing the swamp without lighting them, so don't now one way or the other if they had any influence on other things that appear in this swamp.

I think they increase Mind or MP. I don't remember which.
