In the first game, I trained my characters for 1000 gold each at guilds for a big boost in stats.
Do these stats get carried over to this game or do I lose the big boosts I spent lots of money on?

You go back to level 20 in game 2 and have to retrain at all of the guilds.

However you can't carry money over anyway. No matter how much money you have you start MM2 with 1000 gold.

Spend what you have. Items transfer over except for the weapons you get in the ancient temple, like the Ancient Guns.
