I got the same problem...

I had checked the door, and it did mentioned about Edna and the Sesame Key.
But when I went to see Edna, she still said "Cool place isn't it?"

if u have the edna's ribbon in your inventory - it means that you did not talk to her the second time. you just have to click on her. erin will ask what she lost etc. if u dont have the edna's ribbon in your inventory it means that u already talked to her. if so
go out of edna's place and walk to a "door" which has flag on her... the rest is history....

From where Edna is, go down one room, and check a differently colored wall. It's the "door" you need to check.

I looked at that door from another post. It needs a little gem which I presumed Edna would give you. I cannot equip anything in my inventory that makes a difference and lets me in the door.
