If the dream is intact (ie not spoiled), you get a bigger reward at the end of the game.
In both cases u get a reward but it's better if your dream is pure like a crystal.

6 times is OK especially for a first play but it must be 0 time to access to the biggest reward.

I have just completed the game without touching it and I am telling you the reward is worth the extra effort
