I've now got the hermes shoes so can jump across in the cheese caverns but there is a gate that won't open. I managed to open the other gate by having the jailhouse key equipped but it doesn't work on the one where you jump across the cheese.

Could someone please give me a hint on where to find the key for this gate.

You need the Cheese Flower Key, you found in the end of the Dreamscape Jailhouse, when you fall on the Pit of Amnesia.

Thanks so that is the problem as I haven't reached the end of the Jailhouse. I've explored everywhere except for the area where it is blocked by lots of pillars which I can't get passed or when I try to go passed the "dragons" that kill me immediately.

Can you help? I don't know what I would do without this forum!

You'll get to the area blocked by pillars when you get past the other side of the jail. To get past the dragons that drop rocks
