hourglass & white cross

in gail there are 4 black balls and in the middle there is a flame which was very hard to bit.
if i break the ball with white cross on - immediatly the fire attack me. so i dont have a chance to use the hourgalss.
i know that it is not important to the game... but can somen give me soloution how to break the 4 balls without fighting the flame? (and what good is the hourglass at this case) tx

I don't think there is a way to use the hourglass in this case. The hourglass only works on glitches that are fixed in place. There's really no way to tell when a glitch is trapped behind balls or tiles if it is the moving or the non-moving kind until you free it... and if if moves you can't use the hourglass on it. You might have to use a save and come back at a higher level.
