Jailhouse columns

How do I get past the jailhouse columns blocking my path going left? I have been all over again and again..
Help! What do I need? I need more than a hint.

You cant get past those columns. To access the area you need to
Spoiler: show
Get past the talking gate (past the dragons) and fall and get out of the pit of amnesia (souvenir Card). This transports you the other side of the blocks.
