Hope someone can help. I have played the first three modes twice. Now while in the Nightmare mode the program froze. When I tried to upload the game, I received the following message:
"Script 'load patch data' NoMethodError occurred. undefined method '-' for NilClass

I then tried to re-install the game (3 times) via Mediafire and then click the start button to install, this message came up
"Dreamscape has not been installed because 'Dreamscape/rgssad: This file contains invalid date.(error 21FC)"

I don't know what else to do as I have also re-booted my computer to no avail. I would love to continue my nightmare.

If you are uncertain about your game, once it is fully uninstalled, download it here:
http://nmarch.perso.monaco.mc/games/Dreamscape.exe

and install it.

Thanks Indi for your reply. There must be something wrong with my computer as the uninstall encounters an error as well and cannot uninstall. Oh, well, I have really enjoyed the time I have spent these past many weeks playing this game and think I might have been able to finally conquer Nightmare.

I hope one day you get the chance to complete Nightmare as well.

It sounds like you have got some bad sectors on your harddrive

Try running Check Disc for that drive.
My Computer -> Right-click on the drive -> Properties -> Tools -> The one to do with error checking

Scan for bad sectors. That way Windows will know not to use them anymore.
If it is bad sectors, then you should be able to install the game in another location and play it.

Zeriab: Thank you for this information that I had no idea existed. However, nothing works. Using monaco to download, the installation was successful but when opening Dreamscape the same error appears:

Script "Load Patch Data' line 16: NoMethodError occurred. underined method '-' for NilClass

I appreciate all your help. I have every game Aldorlea has made and look forward with great anticipation to the new releases that hopefully will be soon.

It is a different error and better :3
It looks like the Awards.rxdata and possible also some save files are corrupt.
Try deleting them. You can find them here:

Vista/7: C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Dreamscape_Saves
XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\Application Data\Dreamscape_Saves

Replace [Username] with your user name. (The one you are logged in as)

Tell me if this works ^^
