Write a Thesis quest

OK. Back to this one again. If I were to go back to LF2 and do this quest, I'm sure it wouldn't be as easy as it was in LF3.

You walk up to the lady in the mage guild, presto chango, Alexandra finished the thesis.

So did anyone do it in LF2 and if you did do you remember what/where/who/how/when. I'll settle for anything.

Indy, you allowed to chime in here too. A hint of any kind would me muchly appreciated. I hate doing things the easy way.

Ok I have the newest patch (version "r") and completed the quest with Alexandra and am at the point in the game when I need to go to the Metrolian Wastelands, but Sandra DID NOT award me the 120 guild points??? I also did the Find the Item quest and Sandra DID award me the 80 guild points.
I am replaying the game because I missed the Catch a Rare Bird quest and do remember that I completed the Thesis quest a little later, but didn't pay attention to the guild points then.
Is anyone else not getting the 120 guild points for completing the Thesis quest?

I went there with alex in the party couple times but never got the quest completed

here s how i did it i went to the thiefs guild got the boost but was wearing the other one instead of gabel cigar because it raises your points higher then when your done getting the bonuses and you ve destroyed the theifs guild keep wearring it go to the mage guild put alexendra in your party and she she will complete the quest with 120 points and the other one im talking about is the one that cindy stole from the dark manor it gives you higher points

Also, I believe that the quest is time sensitive and must be done before the party goes to Kondler.
