Millennium 5: speculations, hopes, anything

Just received the newsletter and so the Gamezebo article. A very interesting reading, it's good to realize sometimes that there is a huge amount of work behind each game.
Also, it's true, mapping is fundamental. Without good and entertaining maps, the game is only mediocre, no matter how good the other "ingredients" are. I must add, though, that Indi was always pretty good in creating maps. Even the very first game, LP1, had pretty decent maps. Especially all these little secrets (coins in barrels, jokes, party banters when exploring) help making the game more entertaining.

This may be one of Indy's red herrings. In the dev diary on Gamzebo he wrote
For instance lately I wanted players to be able to enter a sort of greenhouse area inside a modern shrine (recurring in the Millennium series).

We know that it's not the entrance to a new shrine, so where does that leave us? Perhaps a new area inside a shrine we've already visited? Or - again going back to the precise wording of that reply - it's not the *entrance* to a new one. So, maybe new shrine, but not the entrance, which would link with the bit about an "area inside".

Ahem...

Let me quote my own words:

Nope, not the entrance of a new one.

As a graduate Mathematician, it is meant to be read as such:

not "the entrance of a new one"

or if you prefer, it can be in the middle of a new one, or at the exit of a new one or whatever... the "new one" part is still true. +::surrender +::O_o

Come to think of it, I really hope there are some of those "finale" art like in "The Book of Legends" and "Moonchild", you know before the final boss we got some amazing art that took me by surprise.

Hmm... we see development screen and we saw different maps of new areas. Any chance we could see a battle screenshot and see a new monster, or an Animal King?

WHY does it not surprise me in the SLIGHTEST that you're a mathematician??? +::biggrin

On the one hand, your stories are creative enough that, were you so inclined, you could probably turn them into novels. On the other hand, your mathematical brain is clearly what helped you build such logical and believable game progressions.

You're the best of all possible worlds, Indy!!!

BTW, our magical sprite creator, Kylie, hasn't been on in ages. Have you heard from her, Indy?

Yeah, hope her new(er?) computer didn't bite the dust like the last one. Considering the time of year, she may be busy with schoolwork?
