Millennium 5: speculations, hopes, anything

You should also remember, that the later MM5 is released, the more time Marine has for training. And we all want her to be as strong as possible, right? +::biggrin

I don't think Indy's reply is in the slightest bit sarcastic, and I would be surprised if Aggeliki took it that way, though obviously only she can say definitely.

Agreed. If you've spent any time on these forums, you KNOW when Indy is being sarcastic, and this response definitely was not.

His games are just that: HIS. Although he's got wonderful folks who work with him, the majority of the heavy lifting is all Indy. He's developed the characters, written the story, and invested Gaia only knows how many hours in putting it all together. And MM5? Knowing how we're all here, chomping at the bit, expecting to be dazzled like we've never been before? Frankly, were I Indy, I'd have had multiple nervous breakdowns by now. (On second thought, that COULD explain the delays, but I'm going to be optimistic... +::Dunno )

What's more, unlike other developers, when Indy releases one of his games, it's going to be as bug-free as possible. He's meticulous, and the chances that you're going to go to the MM5 release forum and have to download multiple copies because you can't get Marine off a cliff or Jeanne won't leave the screen when the battle is over or JackandJames just jumped out of your monitor and look even better IRL than... uh... Forget that last part. + In any case, with an Indy game, you KNOW you're going to get a quality product the FIRST time you download, and that definitely takes time.

Have I been frustrated about the delays? Of course! How could I not be? How could ANYONE who loves these games not be? But have I ever doubted for a second that it's going to be worth it? Hell. No. I KNOW it is. Even if my nightmares come true and Bokden turns out to be the devil, I know I'm going to get one of the best games I've ever played. Even if I'm playing it through my TEARS OF BETRAYAL!!!! +::cry +::cry +::cry

Agreed Milady, we all know Indy's games are the BEST and for that reason we should all be happy that Indy does take time to polish a game to his utmost satisfaction. besides he is not the only dev to delay a game's coming out- Amaranth also has postponed their awaited game for the 2nd time. We must all have patience, IT WILL BE WORTH THE WAIT!!+:: +::YAY

People, let's just not continue this discussion any further. Though I disagree with cstrait's opinion, cstrait has his own opinion and he posted it politely. So I don't think there is any reason for this comotion.

I do apologize if anything I said sounded rude or disrespectful; definitely did NOT mean it that way!!! :)

BTW, who all has been replaying the "new" versions of MM 1 - 4? I've been having a GREAT time finding all the changes, and there are waaaaay more than I'd expected! Having the book there in the shrines has been SUCH a help.

Personally I'm quite sick at the fact that no one can make a derogatory remark on this site without 20 people lashing out at them and telling them they are wrong. Wrong or right this is how cstrait feels.
cstrait - you are entilted to your opinions and I hope you don't stop voicing what's really on your mind because you are afraid of being attacked.
Now for my opinion, I very seldom come around anymore and don't participate in any of this crap simply because when something is supposed to come out at a certain time and 6 months later it still isn't out it doesn't get me more excited, it just agitates me. I stop by to see what other games have been released and leave. Unfortunately I stopped and read the thread and that really agitated me so once again I am leaving and when the game comes out I will see it either on Amaranth or at Eridani's.

You're absolutely right, cstrait posted his opinion in a polite way, he didn't do for ofending and such. So I think that people took that too seriously.

I agree that is very annoying to expect something to come out in the right time but it doesn't. But Indy never promised a definitive release date, all he said was "early 2013" and he said that people don't get hopes too high as games tends to have some delays. :)

The game may take quite a while to get in Amaranth because Indy doesn't distribute his games right away. And as far as I know, Eridani stopped posting new games... am I wrong?

Just for the record, I was not being sarcastic at all.

And so that everybody knows what appears to be the truth, a lot of other developers make official announcements (unlike mine) and still delay their games far more than I've done with Millennium 5. That's a FACT. I'll let everybody deal with their own sense of justice. :)

It's very true that all the devs seem to delay their release dates. I never really cared much because for me a game is out when it's out.
But now in the case of MM5 I wonder about the lack of information. I think it's certainly better not to speculate about a possible release date, but if we at least got updated about what state of work the game is in, it would help to avoid such discussions. Is it still being created, is it already in beta testing? I don't think I've read any info about this.
I have to say, I personally have started losing interest in the game.
