I redownloaded from BMT site which should have patch by now, but still can not cross from Riverdale to Tir Koraz.
Is there another way to get the patch, or some other way to get across the river?

You should be able to? Are you saying that when you go to the spot at the end of the docks it does nothing? If so that is actually an artifact of the patch as it catches your game up to the correct spot so it can work right. Try selecting the spot 2x, as the 1st time it is turning on a switch to get you to the correct event.

If you get nothing after selecting the spot 2x, then send me your save and I'll move you to the underwater zone.

I downloaded the patched version, and mine is working fine.
Did you buy the flowers from the item store in Riverdale? You need one for each member of the party, so that's 8, and if you want to come back for anything, you'll need another 8 for that.

My query now, though perhaps only Lady JJ and/or bgillisp will know the answers, because I think I'm further ahead than many people.
Where do I find the volumes of the Art of War? I've found vols 1 & 4 by chance and I know from what Lady JJ posted that volume 5 is in the Northpass Mountains, but the others?

No, I mean try to go underwater in Riverdale twice. The first time should do nothing at all if you have already gone underwater, as that is the patch updating the game so it will now work. The 2nd time you should then go into the water and be able to continue.

If you've never been underwater, you need to go buy 8 Icicle Flowers at the store, then go to the SE island, and to the glowing spot on the docks. Once you step on it, you'll be promoted to ask if you are ready to go underwater now.

BTW, if you've never been underwater then ignore the first paragraph, as that kicks in if you went underwater once then left before you completed the dungeon on the older unpatched version.

That's quite impressive! I usually wait until I got the better equipment from Chapter 6 and 7 myself, as the boost to MAT and MDF is quite helpful.

The sword and Elliots skills probably won't stack, as the engine just recognizes if gold double is present on someone in the party when you win. But it means you need to either keep the person who has the sword in the party or Elliot now to get the effect, which is easier to do.

BTW, wait until Chapter 8 when you can do an even harder mode for the arena. Bwahahahahaha...

Upload it to Mediafire and send me the link. That is the easiest way, and mediafire is free to use. The save file is the same directory as the game, and is titled save##.rvdata2, with ## the number of the save slot you are using. Note the autosave is save01.rvdata2, so the first slot you can use is save02.rvdata2.

At the beginning of chapter 4 ... instead of going to Las Vegas with Alex party ... I went back at the crossroads first and tried again - along the way starting with lvl 12 I tried multiple times to beat the hard mode arena to get that golden sword ... I couldn't get past the chimera at first ... then the tiger killed me .... then the mana flayer .... then I reached that twister of minds creature and I couldn't defeat her - too many status inflictions and dmg - I managed to do it now at lvl 32 by using many items along the way - especially "angry pixie" and "pixie in a bottle" ... I had 250 % target rate on cedric and I was begging the creature to hit Cedric instead of the party ... but he just didn't want to do it lol ... only AOE spells continously ...
After I finally managed to kill it - I thought there would be 5 more fights or something but to my surprise it was the last one .... the golden sword is worth it - cool item . I am going to get rich now .... not to mention I can't wait to use Elliot spell that doubles DB after fight - I hope it stacks with Golden Sword

Congratulations! I didn't get that sword, though it may be that I kind of forgot about the arena until after chapter 7.
Still, when I returned in chapter 8, it certainly wasn't a cakewalk and my levels were much higher obviously. There is an expert mode. Not sure when the expert level becomes available. DB is good, but GP is great! Just saying...

I relied more and more on Cedric being the tank protector as the game progressed. With all the damage he can take/prevent, no wonder he's always feeling calorically deprived. LOL
