Hi, sorry for the issue, but the controller should work unless there is some kind of problem.

If you push F1 in the game, there are three tabs and Gamepad is one of them. If you configure this, does that help? You can set your buttons to correspond to the following:
C corresponds to the Action/main button. B is Menu and Cancel. A toggles Dash and the other letters aren't used.
Does this help?

What am I doing wrong?

To solve the Talti Palace puzzle, move the Red Orb Pillar to Orange 1. Move the Sconce to Orange 2. Move the Cross to Orange 3. Move the Pillar to Orange 4. Move the Blue Crystal to Orange 5. The passage will be opened.

I'm wondering where I go after being to the research area in Peruvia? It was suggested I go east to Kasia but where is that?
I still only have a row boat to move around with, and east from Peruvia doesn't do anything. Help please +::sos

hi feyone2
You need to go back through the outpost and then to the right. The forest between the mountains is the entrance to Miamerik Forest.

Hope that helps

East Karsia

Yep, what Lis says is correct about getting to the eastern part of the continent. You just have to go through Miameric Forest. A bigger ship comes later. Thanks for answering, Lis :) If you guys have any other questions, feel free to let me know :)

I just finished the demo on easy mode and I always play in normal mode. I'm conflicted about buying this, because easy mode wasn't that easy at times.

My eyes hurt from it being soooooo dark underground. +::O_o I even missed a simple cave entrance because of that. There's no logic to it being so dark when you finally get to the temple at the end and everything brightens up, but you're still underground.

I've read about the prison issues from several people and I don't like that type of "puzzle".

There appears to be little guidance/direction given from characters and without a quest log .... Well, let's just say I think I would have to buy the guide to finish this game.

Then there's the recent posting about a puzzle involving moving things onto different colors. I am weirdly colorblind in that certain shades are hard to differentiate.

And then there's the comment about teleporting and the designer's admission that he likes difficult puzzles.

I really want to play something new, but +::cry

On a developer note, drop down box choices should default to an answer that has virtually no negative impact on the character. Specifically, there is that "restat?" option with priests that you can only use 3 times during the entire game. I hit the enter key too fast and ate up 1x restat because "Yes" was the first choice. Of course, a simple verification that you want to be so stupid within the first 10-15 minutes of the game would be a good option.

Thanks for the reply and giving me some considerations going forward.

Yeah, the game is fairly tough, and although there's not a quest log, there is a prophet in Hovia (and other major cities) that will give hints about what to do next. On top of that, I'm always willing to help out anyone who needs it. I didn't intend the guide to be required since I'm a player that very infrequently uses a guide. The guide is useful for people that want help to solve every puzzle and/or find every collectible. But yeah, I do like fairly tough puzzles, but my intention was for it to be tough, but fair. Dragon Quest 7 is my favourite RPG and the puzzles in that were pretty hard.

But based on feedback, I'm going to have the prophet that gives hints give much stronger hints for Easy Mode.

The prison is a pretty difficult puzzle, but it's not about dodging and avoiding guards (there's some of that, but it isn't the focus and it's not very action-based), it's about figuring out how to get them to move and find a path forward.

The puzzle posted above that mentions colours is about the coloured numbers listed in the guide. You just have to push them onto the symbols on the floor.

I agree about the 'respec' option. I'll add an "Are you sure?" confirmation to it.

Shipwrecked Merchant

Postby poshpaws » Tue Aug 04, 2020 1:17 pm

The guide says 'head to the hidden isle with the shipwrecked merchant. It’s directly east of the Hovia Institute
island. It’s a one-tile island'. How do I get to this island? The rowing boat doesn't allow me to cross the deep water and I can't see a way to use the large boat?

Hi
Once you finish the mech part in Miameric Forest
Spoiler: show
(putting the powerful crystal into the mech to blow it up, and you return to talk to Flower Man),
you can use the ship. It should be just outside Prejuvia Harbour on the world map. If you push the action button, you should get onto it. With that ship you can get into deeper water.
Hope that helps

Using ship

Postby poshpaws » Tue Aug 04, 2020 3:12 pm

I seem to be unable to get on the ship. I've tried using the action button but nothing happens. I can still get on the rowing boat without a problem. Might this be a glitch?

I never had problems getting on the ship before, but perhaps something happened I didn't foresee. Would you mind sending me your save file and I can check it out? Save files are in User/AppData/Roaming/Horizon Odyssey and you can email me at matthewgrantryan@gmail.com

The boat will be in the same spot, but it's not yours until Flower Man gives it to you. It's possible you haven't completed the Miameric Forest part with the mech and talked with Flower Man after.
