totems of evil?

So I got all the way to the point where the three stars have to battle with Ozur and I'm always getting killed. The walkthrough mentions using "totems of evil". What are these??? Did I sell them somewhere?

You find alot of them in the witch wood mansion section
In your inventory they look like mini oscars.
