Arvale III

bodeia :) Technically 3 as far as the Quest log is concerned (roundabouts the same as the last Episode; i.e. the DM book in the Catacombs for the guy in Queous and the Fruitail from Soneros for the guy in Teddy Bear Oasis, plus Placebook... and nothing in Melonchi, I distracted everyone with the Minecarts to blind them from the sidequests! bwahahaha!).

Episode III has the composer in Portophus looking for the melody which you can pick up in Mideloneous and the cook in Kytar city looking for the ingredients, which you can pick up on the north part of the overworld, plus Flutter (don't forget to check it a few times... even after you meet Brodyn :) ).

Same number of dungeons, towns, and continents as Episode II as well. Weird. It's like I plan these things ;)

Episode 4 will be really, really long. I'll say that now.

As for sidequests in general... after I finish up the final episode. I plan on piecing all of the episodes into one long game someday (I dunno, Arvale: Uber Edition?), complete with all of the latest features from the final episode and jam-packed to the gills with tons of extra side quests throughout the world (where you can travel back and forth between continents freely by a... well, you'll see one day ;)) Kytar city alone was just ripe with ideas (what's with those fortune-tellers anyway?). And that weird archery dude in Garga? Anyway, I think you get the idea :D

Sounds exciting about getting all the episodes in an uber edition with the extras...guess we'll need to wait a while for that though you got to get working on EP4 first +::biggrin +::Thumbup

Alikamou, I'm so happy to hear that :) As Flutter will become very important in the next episode ;)

Speaking of which... I'm in this funk where I can't *stop* working on Arvale and Episode 4 is already underway... Redesigned parts of the battle system I wanted to improve, tweaked the mouse controls and menus and almost have the keyboard and mouse being completely switchable from the options (I will continue to beat the code into submission until it works!) Made the shops a lot prettier and more useful when buying stuff, overhauled the save system so their are 20 save slots (which... since there are so many characters to choose from, it only makes sense for the replayability factor... and well, it's just plain fun to have more save slots, right?), made the fonts more readable, sped up the engine overall, and battle animations all look way more spectacular now that... .. . somebody stop me before I give myself a nervous breakdown :)

Anyway, lots of Wheelbarrows and adventures to look forward to. ;)

This RPG is pretty good and the story is full and developed and is pretty rich in content for the price however I would like to have an autorun option available as the characters move too slow in the game. To me an RPG needs to have a "sense of urgency" with regards to the speed of character movement. This is one of my top pet peeves with games of this genre. If the character moves too slow I tend not to play for very long.

I always give my honest opinion for the reason that I am a long time player of this genre and I know what I like and sometimes little things can make the difference. +::wizard

RPGeez, thanks for the comments! And... noted on the character speed, I'll add a bit more speed to the characters for the final episode.

Speaking of Episode IV... a bunch of updates on it here: http://bit.ly/b47KOr

More to come soon! ;)
