Secret rooms

Postby Tilly Mint » Tue Mar 15, 2011 6:11 am

Well, the walkthrough says there are secret rooms at Djarma's palace but I can't access them. No blue arrow by Batabog either. Brussion is only L44. Is that the problem?
I can't find the Map of Namaru, either. I've been to Suldai and the oasis etc, in and out of the palace several times. Is it in a secret room which I can't access?
Thanks. +::tired

Decided to do a final check. There was a blue arrow by Pelopponese and I obtained the Osiris Ring from the secret room. No others have come to light yet, so I will keep trying for a little longer. I want to find the Yveen hologram and the relic.

I'm annoyed now. If one blue arrow turned up to point to a secret room then the others should have appeared as well. I don't know what I did to get it: I've touched everything, even caught the child three times in the hopes that was the trigger but no.
Please, can anyone help?

Even more annoyed now. I took Brussian out of my party and replaced him with Kratin. Guess what? The one blue arrow I've found for the secret room behind Pelopponese has gone.

Surely, this isn't right? There must be a problem.

Sorry! I should have added that when I changed back to Brussian the blue arrow was still missing behind Pelopponese.

That's the problem part.

Hm, that seems as a problem. The blue arrow should appear again once you put Brussian back in your party.
A few things you could try:
- When you reenter the room with Brussian in party, is the blue arrow there?
- Do you have Vision Hat? It increases Perception, so when you equipp it on Brussian he will have bigger chance of seeing secrets.
- Higher level for Brussian should help too.
- Do you have the latest version of LF3 from this site? It could be a problem, too, there were many bugfixes since the first version.

Thanks for the info Tomas
I don't seem to have a vision hat. Looking back a few saves, none of the other characters appear to be wearing it either. I may have had it at one time and got rid of it????
Brussian is L45 and found the room, so he should find the others at the same level. Except, of course, the arrow vanished when I moved him from the party.
With Brussian in place again, the blue arrow and therfore the secret room has remained vanished.
I bought the game within the last month so I assume it is the latest version.

Do you or does anyone have any other ideas? Besides the things to get, Djarma can get 51 HP according to the walkthrough. Not to be sniffed at.

One more thing - each secret room requires different amount of Perception Points. So discovering one secret room doesn't mean Brussian will be able to see the others.
And if I remember right, there are three ways how to increase Brussian's Perception Points:
- higher level
- Vision Hat (I don't quite remember where I got it, it should be in Thieve's Guild in LF3 according to the walkthrough http://www.aldorlea.org/officialsite/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=139&t=6546&p=199389&hilit=Vision+Hat#p199389, but I'm not really sure).
- Finishing some quests increases your Perception Points, too. Unfortunately, some of these quests are LF1 or LF2-only, so if you are not playing with imported savefile, you missed some of the Perception Points. High level for Brussian helps, but without Vision Hat and imported savefile, you might not be able to see some of the secrets, even on level 99.

Well, strange things are happening. Sometimes the secret room is there, sometimes it isn't. It seems to change when Timbany changes. There might be other reasons too. Ah, well. I've been through the whole bit again and I still didn't get teh map of Namuras.
Back to the game and moving on.
Thanks.

I’m having the same problem seeing the blue arrow in the market room. I have Brussian at lv 57 and have the Vision Hat. I have played LF1 and LF2. I have never had a problem with him not finding a room before.

Perhaps its tied in to the reason I don’t have the Map of Narmaru. I read you receive the map when Djarma joins your party. Well it never happened! One would think that all these issues would have been resolved by now. It sure puts a damper on playing the game. +::Annoyed

FYI Tilly. You only see the blue arrow when Brussian is in your party. That is why you didn’t see them when you put Kratin in your party.
