This is so much true! It's also something that many game creators and players do not seem to realize - that you cannot make only "good" content or "fun and challenging" fights. It's always good by comparison - i.e. the boss fight is fun and challenging because of all the easy fights you went through before. If all battles would be the same then they would all end up being "mediocre" no matter how well they were designed.
