Donaudampfschifffahrtsgesellschaftskapitän = captain of the Danube Steamship Company

i always felt these kinds of words were a bit like cheating to get the title of the longest word. i mean, it's blatantly several words glued together x___x

Well, you're only partly right. We did use that word as kids and tried to make it even longer.
But the Donaudampfschifffahrtsgesellschaft (correctly translated Danube Steam Shipping Company) really existed. It's been sold in 2007 and now has a slightly different name. Their headquarter is in Vienna.
And the Donaudampfschifffahrtsgesellschaftskapitän actually was a captain of a ship in that company. That's true! So even though it's a funny and uncommon word it's not cheating.

I feel so terrible... I've been saying all the names wrong. xD

Benoit is Ben-noyt for me, although I may start saying Be-nwa, as it sounds like some dramatic gesture for wine.

Again, Jeanne was "Jee-ann" for me.

STUDYING ALL THESE DIFFERENT LANGUAGES LEAVES ME WITH NO MORAL TO BASE NAMES FROM. xD

I'm such a failure at these names. ; A;

Mmm, most likely. :3 I'll try to adapt to the 'proper' pronunciation, though.
