VANITY
Now you've hit the big leagues. This boss requires you to be in top form throughout the battle. You need to equip the Dreadnought Shield on Dori, and have her absorb all the physical attacks. Really, this battle isn't too bad after you've figured out the formula, as the boss is very predictable. It has three phases, based on how much you've damaged it. You will know a new phase has come with a dialogue event happens. If anyone dies in this battle, they are absorbed and are unable to be revived. Before starting the battle, get the Nova Ring, which is in the garden in the room to the left of where you beat Wolfgang. This boss is immune to Glade's poisons, and immune to paralysis. Its resistances change often and are hard to predict, so it's best just to deal physical damage.
Phase 1: Easiest phase if you equipped your party with status effect-resisting equipment. The boss will usually simply throw out a physical attack and a possibly a self heal, but will sometimes do a threat wipe (everyone to 20%) and poison/silence/blind the whole party. Ribbons, Nova rings, and amulets of freedom/clarity are very important.
Phase 2: Still a 40% chance of the single physical attack. Instead of cauterize/poison torrent/flash, the boss will threat wipe, then use "wing buffet", a skill that hits everyone for 150, no matter what. Wing Buffet will be used a lot in this middle phase, so make sure you've got everyone above 150 at all times, and as usual, Dori at full as much as possible.
Phase 3: The only difference between phase 2 and phase 3 is that the boss will no longer use the threat wipe -> wing buffet combination. Instead, it will use a threat wipe -> nuke -> fire combination. This won't be a problem for you if you have fire shield up.
Suggested party member tactics:
Lorelai: Mark the boss, deal damage with Barrage (equip iridium bow/arrows for that) and use enchant: moonlight on Dori often, to help Belinda's healing rotation.
Glade: Distracting Strike and assign the threat to Dori, rarely will he do anything else
Dori: Do her best to keep a high amount of threat at all times with taunt/challenge/damage dealing. Sunder a couple times to lower the boss's DEF. Use command/charisma aura. Use demoralizing aura. Deflect helps a lot, if you can spare a turn to use it. Crusader Blade might be best, so she can deal a lot of damage and gain threat. Never let her threat dip below 75%.
Belinda: Stoneskin Dori, use Healing Light on Dori after the physical attacks. If needed, use Mend or Circle of Healing to counter the passive HP drain effect. May need to rely on Lorelai casting Enchant: Moonlight on Dori, so you can get off a mend.
Winchester: Bloodlust Dori and Glade at all times, and Lorelai if you can. Fire shield once, and then again after getting hit by "Nuke." Innervate/Mana Channel Dori some OV, or Beli some MP if needed. He will probably not have time to do any nuking of his own. May need to Mana Tap to gain more MP.
Essential equipment: DREADNOUGHT SHIELD ON TANK! If you don't have one already, you can always go back to Fort Dragonbane and get one.
*Suggested equipment: Lightfury/Crusader Blade on tank, Enrage Poison on Glade, Benediction on Belinda, Dreadnought Plate/Helm/Gauntlet on tank, Nova Ring on a male/cat, Ribbon on females, Elegant Bow on Belinda
Difficulty: **********
