Hi, I am new here. I recently have become very interested in smaller 2d games like those available on this site. I am searching for reccomendations for a particualr kind of games: those that contain a romance plot about childhood friends with a happy ending, like Prophecy of Ahriman or Aveyond 2. Could you please indicate to me which games of the list have such a plot, so I could start with these ones (later I will play the others as well, but I am particularly interested in these).

Indeed, both of these games meet the "childhood friends romance" criterion quite well. I also remember one (very) old RPG Maker 2000 free game - Love and War. It was pretty decent back then, but I'm not sure if it has ever been completed.

P.s. If you can omit the childhood part, then The Book of Legends might fit well, too.

But 3 stars of destiny is the prequel of a whole game series, if I got it right, so this childhood friend romance plot is explored in the other games as well?
By the way, a question out of curiosity: how old Random and Sarah were when they first met to be counted as childhood friends? I am asking because elves in fantasy universes usually have a different lifespan than humans.

They first meet in 3 Stars. Guess they are 15 or something like that. Not younger for sure.

But they knew each other before then. At least saw each other from time to time... Because when they first meet, Random says "So you're the annoying neighbor" or smth like that :razz:

Gnome: Yes, 3SoD is a first part of a big series of games, but the romance plot is basically concluded in the first game.
As for their age, they're both 16 at the beginning of Laxius Power (the subsequent game) and it's said that they met when they were 12.

So in this universe elves develop physically more or less in the same periods of time as humans? Because in the game the two main characters look like they are both in their teens, while if the elves were like in series like Lord of the Rings or Dragon Lance, then at 16 she would still be a baby.

I believe so. At least I don't remember seeing any mention about Elves living longer than humans in any of the Laxius games.

Wait... I doubt that in the start of 3SoD, they were 12. I bet they were 14-15.

How old was Luci??? And a question to Indi, we "will" find out her origins... right???

I guess that the ages are just minor continuity erros. +::biggrin

About the origins, only Luci origin is a mistery... the other ones, not so much. Unless Random's parents aren't their real parents... speaking of which (okay, getting a little off-topic) Random's parents were never found in Laxius Force. O_o

I've always thought that they were very young in 3SoD. They were very gifted for their age, after all.
Only Indi can tell for sure, anyway.

BTW Love And War's Act I was finished a month ago.
