Golden Butterfly

I've been walking around Valauus off and on for a couple of days and the golden butterfly has yet to appear. Do I need to do something else?

I think it is always there until you catch it, towards the bottom exit, a bit to the right.

it's very tiny, so it can be a bit difficult to spot, I suppose...

Is it before the exit of Valauus or in the town proper at the bottom right?
