I can't find the way out of the Mine. The portal doesn't work - something of great mystical power is blocking the way and I can't go through entrance/exit, Tyber says "can't retreat that far we don't even know where Rowan is". I've been back to Rowan in the jail and battled my way back again to the entrance and now in desperate need of HP and MP items. Is there another exit I have missed somewhere? The Guide doesn't help with my problem, it assumes I'm out of here and off to the next location. Help please .....

you need to go to everdusk and visit the mayor's house
then exit everdusk and rowan will be at the entrance

My problem is that I can't find a way to leave the cave so that I can go back to Everdusk

You must go back to the Silverhaunt Mines.

I have returned to the Silverhaunt Mine but can't exit. When I try to leave (thro the original entrance) Tyber says "we can't retreat that far we don't even know where Rowan is"

When you exit the Lost Tunnels, you connect with the ending part of Silverhaunt Mines, and from there, go to the bottom/right to exit to the world map. Then Everdusk and all the rest I already said. +::music
