Can't find Tsen

I've looked for Tsen in the place he's supposed to be, and he's not there. Did I miss him? Can I get him back?

If you looked at the right place, then yes, the bird is gone. I reckon you need to pick it before you kill the second demon (but take this info with a grain of salt)
