In TBOL you do have everyone at once at the end +::O_o

In YOU you must pick 9 Generals out of 20 max, and each General can control up to 3 Troops (= characters).
So technically 36 characters at the same time, to defeat a wave of around 20 fights.

The title of the new game could also mean that you have to make choices that determine what characters to get out of those 80.

You make a first choice with the 9 (whenever you get 10+) and then a choice of who to send to fight a given set of enemies.

So if I pick 9, I won't get to play with the other 11 in that playthrough? That's actually what I meant when I said we won't get all 80 at once.

No, you can go back to your castle and pick 9 different ones, the 20 are always available (well, assuming you get them all).
You can really have all 20 Generals and their 60 Troops.

Some you have to find but a lot of you have to conquer. They are in their own castle and won't ally with you unless you show them who's DA BOSS. +::wizard

There is... no-one like Broff specifically xD

There are not really secret characters but sometimes you can get characters unexpectedly.
Other times you seem them show off in their castle until you defeat them and they join your cause. +::music
