how long should it take to finish the stair/how many screens? it never seems to finish, although i have glued my finger on the up key

i think i am on the wrong track, but i don't know where the mistake is since i never let go the up key

ah, it's quite long, but you can tell you are progressing as you regularly see new things trying to distract you. if the stairs are all empty, then you failed (reload).
from the moment random says "up up up" just stick your finger to the up arrow key and dont stop until another dialog resumes.

this happened to me once - remember Indy? I know I didn't remove my finger form the up key either - I would suggest starting the stairs again, the second time it worked perfectly for me. Hope you saved just before them.

yes try again - i'll pass it for you if you cannot do it.
it could be the computer (although it's not logical based on the coding, but comps are not very logical)

but how about the unfinished quests? and i can't see the phoenix anywhere
how can i revisit those places again?

EDIT : i found the phoenix! sorry, will explore a bit first

just a question though Indy, why you didn't set an overall area map where we can go back and forth? it is a very good game with slightly lower difficuly than LP3, but a bit disappointed it ends so soon! good job in finishing another game with hardly any bug (only sarah's spell as far as i find out)

as i said it's important to start pressing UP even before random finishes his dialog - more secure this way.

if you are in the island, the phoenix is to the bottom (easy to see)

i'm not going to do another game of the size of LP3 - it was a challenge i wanted to take back then but it also had plenty of bugs. my rpgs will be of LF/LP1/3S size, which imo is already pretty big.

I still keep getting stuck in the stairs.

I kept pressing the UP button and didn't stop but I'm still stuck.
Reloaded the game from the last save point but I'm still stuck.

Any ideas how to fix that?

The move is:

when you see Random saying "up up up" towards the end of the dialog, press UP, and dont move your finger until you are out of here.
Then press ENTER - the dialog will end and Random will start walking up (logically).
From this point on you just dont move your fingers until you see the ending credits.
