It is impossible for me to be quick enough to out run the snowball and I don't have the dexterity to keep trying. I have been trying on and off for a couple of days now. There seems to be no option for progressing in the game without doing this. Please can I ask the developer to bear this in mind when creating any future games?

Many people have had troubles with the dexterity parts of this game, so I will not be including them in the possible future games. To be honest, I did nerf the parts greatly before the release, but it seems they're still too hard for some players.

Thank you. I don't mind if it's a side game where you can obtain gear etc but it's difficult to progress when you have to get through these puzzles as part of the main story line. are you able to send me a save file with the snowball escape completed? I had to look up the meaning of 'nerfing' +::O_o

What you could do, instead of "nerfing" (whatever that is), is make it possible to save during a dexterity game. The problem isn't that we can't do the games--we realize that they take practice and determination. The problem is that we're forced to repeat the whole sequence--sometimes quite a long sequence--from the start over and over again until it stops being a challenge and just becomes unpleasant.

"In video games, when the makers increase the power of something, it is sometimes referred to as a buff. If they decrease the power of something, it is called a nerf or a de-buff. This also applies to player abilities to temporarily increase or decrease their power."

What I would like to see in RPGs that include puzzles and such as the snowball chase is that those can be skipped. I don't buy RPGs that include puzzles that I need to solve in order to progress in the game, because if I can't do them, I am stuck, which means I would have to abandon the game, which would be a waste of my money.

When I was young, I had many games on NES I wasn't able to beat. Zelda 2 for instance was one of my favorites at the time, even though I always got stuck in the Death Mountain labyrinth. Despite this, I knew the game was not impossible, and a lot later in my life I finally managed to conquer it after a long session. I felt very satisfied after doing this, but I don't think I would've felt anything if I could have just skipped all the hard parts.

When I was creating Labyronia Elements, I played hard games such as Battletoads from the heyday, and some of them affected the development. I wanted to create one of the more challenging RPG:s out there with old-school elements. However, I don't think the final product is really that hard, at least when compared to those 8-bit games.

As for the snowball scene, it's actually a very short sprint. The difficulty is nowhere near the tree chase scene in Cindyral, which was originally way too tough and I had to introduce means to skip it.

Labyronia Elements Icefog Forest

Postby maxi2505 » Wed Jun 27, 2018 2:11 pm

Icefog Forest maze, finally made it. A few things I did first, I upgraded my video card driver, brightened my screen to see as much as possible, and stopped "superfetch" When I did that I finally made it.
Iceberg Forest: take the upper most path, go all the way east that you can, even after the fog, Keep Going. S, E, S, W, S, W, S, W, S, E, S, E till next screen. S=south, E=east, W=west.
To be completely fair to the people that have bought this game, not all computers are the latest or greatest. They may lack the speed or response time needed to actually succeed at some of these timed puzzles. Sorry, I don't want to spend $2000 for a "gaming computer". I have been doing these games for years, my dexterity is excellent, and I don't have a touch screen.

Cool :D Don't worry if I'm not always hand holding people through the problems. I'm hoping people would find the answers by themselves, or help each other through the hard parts. I'm kind of satisfied there's not too much info or walkthroughs through this game. I think it's more exciting for the people to find out the solutions by themselves. Back in the day, when we still hadn't got internet, we had to use gaming magazines to find tip and tricks. Of course I'm willing to help and fix the bugs if some appear, How've you been liking the game so far, by the way?

where in the hell is the second cinderbeak in the fire world ? The first one just comes to you automatically ... the second one I assume should be in the right side of that map but I can't reach the right side ... every path is blocked

Nvm ... I couldn't find that bookcase that you had to move ... found it at last.

Gear Points (GP) make you learn a skill permanently once you've maxed the points to an item. So, when you have 999 gear points, you can use the skill attached to the gear piece even without using that gear. Gear points can be acquired by winning battles.
