Perfect, exactly my thoughts, and why I can't stand this system.
It also makes ZERO sense and totally breaks the immersion. You're basically in a Game, not in a world.
Because otherwise why every other creature would follow your levelling? How illogical is that? Did they all rescue a princess (or a kidnapped Sarah) too? Xd

I'll say I dont know yet... I need to get my old laptop and try it on it.
Mind you, I don't remember if that laptop has XP or another one, but it's quite old now (7 years).
How old is yours?

it is old..10 years plus..i tried to play the latest demos before buying (for instance the deal-shattered worlds-shadows and lies) and i got the kernel.ddl error on launching the demos..the odd thing is that the demo of the Lightbringers is playing allright! maybe it is the game engine different?

Except Shadows & Lies these games aren't mine.
However I think The Lightbringers is an MV game and... so is Shattered Worlds.
I seem to recall The Deal is also MV. You might want to try the latest Knight Bewitched 2, which is also MV.

Shadows and Lies, however, is VX Ace, and we have other ones that are, such as A Timely Intervention or The Tale of a Common Man. Can you give a shot to these two maybe? And let me know?

I think it depends on implementation. In my game I had an area that did have the old enemies get cleared out...by a more powerful group that took up residence there instead. So it can work with an explanation in world.

Also congrats on the upcoming release! I need to go play Laxis Force still sometime, should get on it as I bought Laxis Force I a little while ago from here.

This does work indeed. +::Thumbup
As it happens, I do that, sometimes.

Thanks, hope you'll like it! +::Dance
Forever Heroes should be my first MV game in the style of Laxius. I hope it will rival the scope and epicness of The Book of Shadows! +::heart

@bgillisp my man ... do keep us posted when you plan on releasing another game ... you are one of the Hero developers on this forum, along with Indy.

We'll see. Just don't spend 5 years making it like I did with The Book of Shadows.

Thanks! Work and such has kept me really busy as I had to shuffle everything to online only but I think I'm getting a rhythm now. I do have a tentative title for the next game of Montagor's Legacy...set 18 months after the events in The Book of Shadows.

Hello again! Yes Indy you were wright about the demos, aldorlea's demos are opening just fine, but all the other latetest demos(like knight bewitched 2, shattered worlds and the lightbringers) are giving me this message: the release point SRWLockExclusive cannot be found in the dynamic library kernel.dll.So i guess that the newest engine messes up with the windows xp kernel..i hope Forever Heroes is like all other Aldorlea games and still playable on win xp..thank you and sorry for the off topic comments!

No, it's not. +::cry
It's with the "new" one (which is an important choice for me to grow as a developer).
I hope miracles can still happen, but not sure at this point... +::Dunno

Have you tried my latest stuff? Inferno, Fortress of Hell, Plunge into Darkness? They should all work properly (old engine).

Nah I was mentionning them in case you hadn't seen them yet.

It might be possible. The upcoming game is NOT using the same software as the 3 above, however it IS using the same as the latest (from third party devs) Shattered Worlds and Knight Bewitched 2.
