I guess I could word that better, sorry about that. I'll make sure to update it. I'll explain it better here:
There are two parts that unlock. The first part unlocks by activating the two middle blue squares shown on the map (the ones that aren't the corners). Then you have to flip those two squares off. The second part unlocks by lighting up the 4 corner blue squares.
Spoiler: show
This puzzle is based on the idea of a chessboard. The two middle squares are the kings mentioned in the hint. The walls in the hint are the rooks (the 4 blue squares in the corners). This is an optional puzzle because it relies on knowledge from outside the game. Plus it's tough even if you know chess.

I hope that helps.

Thank you! I really appreciate it :) I hope you enjoy it!
There are a couple powerful crystals in the game that flash multiple colours pretty fast and it got me thinking it could be an issue. I don't know if it would, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

I really like this game, story line is really different from the norm! Like someone else mentioned I'm stuck now in prison trying to get by the guards for hours. I really can't afford to buy the guide as I bought 2 games here already this month. Any help to saving the girl would be great! I've got 3 party members and have been thrown in jail more times than I want to count lol
+::sos Many thanks in advance.

Thanks for the compliment :) I'm glad you like the story. It was definitely a focus for me when making this game.

And no worries, it's not my intention to have the game be so hard you need a guide. I want the guide to be optional. The prison is pretty tough. It's a bunch of smaller puzzles in one dungeon. So depending on the part you're at, the solution will be different. A lot of the guards block areas off and you can't get by them until you do something. I'm not sure what part you're stuck at, so I'll give hints of parts I think are easiest to miss. I'll spoil tag the hints:
Spoiler: show
The hardest part I think for me would be the cat on the 2nd floor. When you "talk" to that cat, it alerts a guard and he runs over to see what the noise was. As he runs by, you can sneak into one of the cells and then run to where he was standing guard. You can get into a cell previously blocked off, break through a wall and get to a new area.

The next hint is after you get into the locked boardroom, you can ring a bell. The bell is an alarm that causes a lot of the guards to leave their posts and go outside. Because of this, you can get upstairs through a different path, which in turn leads to a new area. There is a hint in the game about where to go from here, but the new path forward is in this new area.

I'm not sure if this covers your specific issue, and if not, feel free to comment again, but I hope this is a good starting point and might help out others as well.

Also: Tilde-e, the prophet in Hovia (at one of the market stands) gives hints for the part you're currently on. She might not help for every issue that comes up, but I think she'll come in handy.

Thank you, Matt. Easy mode makes it so much more fun for me. +::Dance BTW, I am wondering what that football (soccer ball) is for, except to just kick it around for no reason...

Zulukat - I struggled in the prison too but found it's the way that you sidle past the prison guards that help. Don't get too close to them unless they are facing in a different direction to you. Sometimes also they look as though they should be able to see you but dont so it's a bit of trial and error.

I'm glad you like it :) After testing with it, I can definitely see how it would be more fun for a lot of people, especially people that prefer the story and exploration over combat (I'll probably play it this way now, lol). I wanted to make my game pretty difficult because that made it fun to me. I don't know why I didn't consider easy mode and such before so it could be fun for both people that want a challenge and people that want to experience the story. At least it's in there now :)

The soccer ball is there just for fun really. I find it satisfying to kick around sometimes. However, you can Power Shove it with Krantz in a specific direction to get some Seals, but it wasn't really meant to be discovered haha. Just a random Easter egg if someone somehow managed to find out about it. Sorry if it was misleading.

No, it's fine. I just thought that there must be a reason for the ball. I kicked it towards the 2 characters, but they didn't kick it back. LOL Must try it again now that I have Krantz with me.

And yes, it was so much easier to get through that tunnel and kill the first "boss" in town on Easy mode. Thanks again for that.

Really was my kind of game, but it is more relaxing when playing with a mouse. When I play, I am the kind of person who likes to take it easy and have fun without limits. And playing with a keybord is making me anxious. I have a laptop witch I want to keep for years and years. I am always scared to brake some keys while playing. You can change easely your mouse if you are a little hard with it but is more complicated to change your complete system +::sos The game had a lot of what I like in rpg in general. Tell me if there is a way to enebale the mouse. Thank you.

I looked into adding mouse support, but currently there are issues with the game crashing due to how the Skill Trees are coded. If I can work around that, it's something I'd like to look into more. As for worrying about your laptop keyboard, a USB controller is supported with this game (an Xbox One or Xbox 360 controller would work, for example).

I am so sorry about the coding problem... For your next game, please add this mouse option. I don't have an X Box. More into hidden Objects pc most of the time lol. If you find a way to fix this, let us know!

oh ... I am confused. I just bought the game. I found a "rusty hammer" among other things. It shows up as a weapon, but not in the selection If I want to use it? And I am at the underground church .... but I cannot find anything to do. At a complete standstill here I don't know what to do or where to go to next. ... In the demo ... when I went to the underground church it said something about breaking a wall? I have 4 books and 3 orbs. Help I don't know what to do next. Thanks

Thanks for buying the game, I hope you enjoy :)
The rusty hammer is grayed out because it's a heavy weapon. None of your current characters can equip it.

Spoiler: show
Krantz's statement about 'breaking the 4th wall' is a saying. It means a fictional character is talking to the player. I just needed to let the player know the Demo was ending so they would save the game and I thought this would be a fun way to do it - sorry for the confusion. All you have to do to get out of the church is push the cross to the side (if Krantz has learned Power Shove from the Determination Orb, he can move it). There's a hole behind it which leads to the world map.
