Thank you for the reply. I did discover that some of the other guards were gone and was able to enter the area I was trying to exit. And, yes, I am enjoying the game. Always nice to know the developer is readily available. :)

I think I must be being a bit dim here :(
I have gone to the Prejuvia continent in the rowing boat, but can't see Prejuvia harbour. I've been to the outpost, which I can't pass because it's all on fire. The only place I can see to go is the Miameric Forest - is that right?
Also, I have just loaded the new version, and I do not have the option to save in this forest, so I am a bit confused - I thought it gave the option to save anywhere?

Sorry - I have realised that the bar things are the harbour - it didn't look like a location to me so I missed it :)

I never considered that - I have changed it to a house icon just in case. (I think I originally thought those bars were little beach huts, but they might be barricades instead).

As for the Forest - it should have the ability to save (as long as you went to a priest and changed the settings to save anywhere). I'm looking for something that I perhaps missed. If you leave and come back (and turn on 'save anywhere' at one of the priests), does it give you the option? If not, I'll have to figure out what I missed.

ah - that explains it! I didn't realise that I had to go to a priest to turn it on! Thank you :)

It gives you the option at the beginning of the game as well, it's just that I added these two options after I first released the game. I added it to the options at priests so that players could still change the settings if they started the game before I released this option. Any new players will get the option at the beginning of the game (but will still be able to change these settings at the priests afterwards if they choose).

Do you need to re-download the game to get the new options? If so where do I find the link and will it automatically update my save files as I'm quite a long way into the game now?

The save files will be fine if you update the game, so no worries there.

I only updated the game file once, so if you haven't updated at all, then you'd have to re-download for the save anywhere and easy mode options.

The link you used to download the game originally (I think it would've been emailed to you) will let you download it again, but it will be the updated game file. You'd have to reinstall it again and your save files will be okay because they save in the appdata folder, not in the game's folder. When you reinstall and go to launch the game, your load data will still be there.

If you're curious, the save files will be saved to User/AppData/Roaming/Horizon Odyssey

Castle ruins

Postby poshpaws » Wed Jul 29, 2020 6:14 pm

I am having difficulty in lighting up the teleports. I have the guide but still don't understand how I do this. Is it possible to have a diagram showing the sequence of where you have to step. Also if monsters pop up you can lose the thread of where you were. It's a great but sometimes challenging game by the way. It's quite different to others.

Hmm, I can try to think of something that will make it easier to follow. With how much teleporting there is, I feel like it would be tough to make a diagram...so I'll give it some thought. In the meantime, if you highlight (in the guide) the portal path you're currently on as you do it, that might help you keep track of where you are. If you're confused by the sequence, example: 4 -> right. -- the number 4 indicates the portal on the Castle Ruins map (Map #62) that you step on. Then, where it teleports you, you move to the right. And so on. The portals are indicated by the numbers in the orange box. I hope this helps.

Thanks, I appreciate the compliment and I'm glad you're liking it :) I made it pretty tough because I love puzzles in RPGs and the combat in a lot of the classic RPGs always felt a bit easy to me. I hope save everywhere and easy mode help out the players that don't feel the same as I do about RPG games so that more people can enjoy the game.

Spoiler: show
Garreth is the Hermit in Holv that helped you find the tunnel to the world map. He said he wasn't coming with you, but with the power of that Orb, he will feel strong enough to join you.

I am stuck in the Mayor's house! Got there through Under Hovia. Saw the cat, but I don't know how to get out. Where the cat is .... it is almost like this giant hole wasn't under the desk? And the regular exit says : we probably should stay out of Pro Gruh'l ???? thanks.

You came in on the left side of the house on the first floor through a secret passage. Use the action button there and you can go back into the tunnel. I'll make it more obvious.
