Interesting, not trivial story. I definitely will be play the game again. It left me with emotions and feelings I want to experience once more time. Wow, thanks for all the compliments :) I'm really happy you enjoyed the game so much, even the challenging puzzles and enough to play it twice. 50 hours completion time is pretty good. It usually took me around 60 and others I had test it took longer than that. Congrats on figuring out most of the puzzles. I'm glad you liked the puzzles in the same way. I like puzzles like this in RPGs and it feels good to solve the tough ones. And I'm also happy the story struck a chord - I definitely wanted an emotional story. Thanks again for your comment, it was nice to see this.

What the guide doesn't tell you is that there may be another treasure in that chest as well, and this ring is going to be invaluable if you still need to tie up some loose ends before the final battle (e.g. finding all the paradox miasmas, orbs, etc.) I think this find is dependent upon having recruited a certain optional player, though. (If you have all 12 players, then you'll be all set.)

I guess I didn't make it clear enough, but the ring is actually an Orb milestone for Garreth. You find it after finding 24 Freedom Orbs (So finding the ring isn't connected to this specific chest - you'd find it wherever you get the 24th Freedom Orb. Also Steven isn't required to find it - if you get 24 Freedom Orbs and don't have Steven, Garreth will just say he found it). However, this made me realize I should add an Orb Milestone section to my guide, so I'll add that to the guide while fixing some other things.

The new guide is uploaded with the crystal puzzle in Vordenstople error fixed. The fully updated one (with the Orb/Miasma legends updated) will be uploaded tomorrow or the next day.

To get out of this part of the forest, you have to activate all the crystals so they are the smaller form. Under the map for this part, says the order you have to activate the crystals which is (the crystals are marked with orange numbers): 4, 3, 2, and then 1. However, if you've already changed the crystals around, you'll want to go switch all 4 of the crystals to the bigger state before following the guide order.

The exit is top right near that sign. It will have blue tiles you can walk across when all 4 crystals are in the small state. I hope this helps.

Yep, you need 12 Freedom Orbs for Lock Pick.

For field abilities like that, you can look at your characters' skills and scroll down to Field. Skills like Power Shove, Lock Pick, Boulder, etc will be there.

To get that portal active, you have to go to all the locations mentioned on the Talti Notes. The guide lists them all in orange and they're only in Talti places.

I'm working on getting an Orb Milestone section in the guide, but for Obelisk, you need 18 Freedom Orbs and Garreth will learn it.

L1, L2, L3 are the Liberator Orbs you get from talking with Salanthronos. You would already have those ones if you're in Talti, so you don't have to do anything about that.

Awesome, I'm happy you love the game :) Feel free to ask any other questions you have.

pursuit of ancient text

Postby jincyk » Sun Aug 09, 2020 4:41 pm

Have the quest for the ancient text but unable to do anything in Map 2 of the miameric forest because everything's blocked off by water. The guide says "go up to the rippling water" after you change the crystal, but you can't get to the rippling water. What step am I missing?

Hi,
There are crystals and a water switch that open and close paths depending what state they are. The water switch is marked in the guide with a 1. The crystals are marked with orange numbers and there are 3 of them. The steps to get by the blocked areas in the forest in the guide are:
Set Crystal 1 to state 2. Go up to the rippling water (#1) and switch it on. Head back to Crystal 1 and set it to state 1. The path is now open to reach all the way to Crystal 2. Set Crystal 2 to state 0. Now you can head down to D1. Set Crystal 2 back to state 1 and go back to #1 and switch the water off. Now you can go back to Crystal 2 through a different path. Set Crystal 2 to state 2. Now make your way to Crystal 3 and set it to state 0. You’re free!

If the order got mixed up, you can leave this map (Map 58) and come back and start the order over. I hope this helps.

The Historian's Secret Room entrance is through a portal where you picked up the Talti Notes in the damaged house in Talti. It looks like I forgot to mention that, sorry. I'll add it now. House #6 on the Talti map (Map #74)

I defeated pid but the portal is still not active

The portal is activated by visiting all the places mentioned in the Talti Notes. It's like a scavenger hunt, but the Talti Notes are clues to where to look. If you have the guide, the places are listed in orange font. All the locations are in the Talti area. Once you go to all 5 places and interact with them, the portal will be activated.
