F-i-n-a-l-l-y, I beat them, small cutscene, then poof! Straight to the Load menu with no option to save. So it was all for naught. I'm guessing that's how the demo ends, but I would have appreciated a heads up so I could have at least saved after that battle. Going by Zulukat's postings, I may have left town too soon. Maybe I should done a bit more early exploring.

@Zulukat-are these freezes occuring with the demo or with the purchased game? I'll probably purchase but not until Monday as I'm away from home with slow internet right now and it would just take forever to download.

Occurred with purchased game Lady JJ. Cave was easy cuz I leveled up exploring and hit one at a time using Lux 2 when available to use. I'll tell you I'm confused on what to sell from monster loot as haven't really seen a lot of stuff crafted from the stuff but I'm heading North through cave. Those battles are a little tough. Make sure to learn "Clear" and "Dispel" on Pat? And the Increase on the point system to get more points for skills. I found just going around killing things with the increase helped to level up skills. I've played this type of skill leveling before which really makes you think and plan battles better.

I'm finding this game to be so much fun! I even have to tell myself it's time to stop to eat +::lol
(Same on Indy's games) Remember to save a lot since issues aren't fixed yet...
The price is great too for a game like this.

Hi everyone, it's Luchi here, developer of Tiranogg. I'm a little nervous because Tiranogg is my first commercial game after developing games in RPGMaker since 2009, haha.

If there are any serious issues with the demo, please let me know so I can send Indinera a new version as soon as possible. The full version works fine as far as I know. Also, demo saves can be used in the full version as well so you don't have to play the full game from the beginning.

Some general hints and tips from the guide:

- Guard recovers 10% of your characters HP and MP in battle.
- You can change equipment mid-battle but afterwards you need to wait 2 turns to change it again. It becomes an important strategy in later fights.
- Experiment with different equipment and passive abilities for your characters.
- Curious players will be rewarded! Investigate pots, barrels, even waterfalls and walls for hidden areas!
- Save a lot. There are 50 slots, after all +::biggrin

The game isn't a grindfest, I promise you. Laine herself is quite strong and you don't need to grind out all of Pat's skills and I recommend getting his SPD and DEF passives as soon as possible because it really helps with his durability (if you gathered enough Golden Doubloons you can trade them for a particularly powerful robe sold in Dagda)

The three bosses in the cave are toughies, haha. Focus on one of them at a time and use the Starlight Scrolls once Pat comes out of his Petrified state.

I hope this helps!

This is one of those games that the more I play it, the more I like it. And I liked it just fine from the start, just like it even more now. I'm definitely going to buy the full version. For now I'm exploring the heck out of the demo.

Side Quests
I've found 2 before heading to Orghaill.
#1 Clannad the Alchemist - needs Incendiary Bag, barter for it at the small trading port upper right area, town with rowboat. I don't have all the ingredients yet so I haven't finished this quest.
#2 Edgar the City Councillor - clear out the slimes that are sludging up the sewers. Rewards: 1000 K, Gauntlet

There is a merchant in the western town that was ransacked by mutant creatures. You need to enter the house with a blue roof to find him. He sells rare equipment. I don't have enough money right now to shop with him, but what he has looks really useful.

The other hidden area I found was in the waterfall that leads to Orghaill. Lots of goodies.

I don't have the guide. I suspect it will be helpful. I sold a lot of battle goodies before in the Orghaill southern forest just trying to buy enough healing items to stay alive. I think I may have learned a bit more since last night. :)

@ZuluKat - any other quests / hidden areas you found in the first 2 hours?

@Luchi - there's another BGM missing in the demo. It plays in the sewer. Seabed_shrine That's along with omen which I believe Indy added to the file and reuploaded.

@kimo - Download the demo. There's nothing gamebreaking in the demo, just the 2 missing audio file popups but the game resumes. The HUD isn't all that difficult to learn, just the skills take a little getting used to. It's not quite a skill tree (which I really hate), but you do have to use jp (job points) to select and learn the skills. There are lots and lots of goodies to find. Click on everything. I love it!! If my battle strategy were a little better in the beginning, I wouldn't have needed to grind. Still, grinding wasn't all that tedious and it did gain me lots of battle loot which I'm pretty sure is going to be really helpful in bartering for much needed items. I really think you'll like this game. :)

OMG the sewers again, OMG!!! Ok make sure at the traders to stock up on stimulant packages and mana packages cuz the prices are outrageous at shops. Glad I didn't sell loot from monsters. And yes, there are several hidden rooms that I found in cave areas. Then there's also guiding arrows to other rooms. Seriously, the Sewers...I had to take a break the battles are so intense +::YAY
Kimo just play the game!!! And everyone else too.

@Luchi, please read my posts as to the problems...I've already bought the game and would like to see the issues dealt with. That freeze after sneezing from the cat and I'm not going to list them again...at least my laptop didn't freeze up and I could still alt/enter to close. I don't like a statement that there's no issues with the game, yes, it's still playable but I think the little things just need tweaking. Congrats on your first commercial game! How did you come up with the prices for items I wonder?
Btw, the Guard is great with repeating it when you're down to one monster with low hp so you don't have to use potions. It may take a while longer but it's better and extends game play. +::Thumbup

Like Indinera explained, the audio issue definitely occurs when the game gets uploaded because all the Audio files are in the folder, so I dunno why that happens... +::Dunno It works fine when I test the game on Steam (due for a late November release)

@ZuluKat: Thanks, I'll fix up those issues asap. And thank you. It was big decision to go commercial in the end because of the general stigma surrounding RPGMaker and bad games. Item prices were probably just based off years of making games, haha. Instinct, I guess.

I'm glad you're having so much fun with the game :D Just a heads-up, the Morai Research Facility is really vicious and there's a hidden door that leads to the hidden blacksmith as well.

If anyone is stuck, I do recommend getting the guide. There's a lot of useful info in there and it's over 100 pages long with boss guide strats. +::biggrin

I'm playing the demo because @LadyJJ and @ZuluKat made strong suggestions to do so. This game is very different and I am sure many people would like this change in style.

But, is there not quest log or equivalent? I have had a couple of things asked of the party and I would have to write them down to be able to remember them. I am hoping I have just missed something, 'cause my memory ain't what it used to be.

I have found one game freeze issue in the first town (dual city tiles) in the armorer's shop. The game froze when the party talked to a Knight in the armory from either the left or right side of him. Game does not freeze when approaching him head-on. It seems like some kind of movement issue that requires the party to only approach from the front, because there is a brief conversation about blocking his path followed by a fixed pattern party movement. Is this possibly a "skip if cannot move" fix?

Oh. One more thing. I will wait until tomorrow to enter the sewers because I cannot save in the sewers. Will there be future save points? Maybe some jumping bunnies or frogs? +::biggrin

Well, a second thing for people playing this game. 1 NPC advised the purchase of Dull Pendants and Force Bands (sold in a shop) so both characters are now equipped with them.

Lady JJ - where exactly did you find the incendiary bag? And what's supposed to go into it? I've been looking around both port towns and can't find anyone with the bag. I sure miss having a quest log. Not big on buying the guides, but I might have to. I've been wandering around stuck with nothing new to do for a day now. +::sos

@polarbr - She's an outside merchant in that small town, northeast with rowboat. Her name is Darcy. She's right there when you enter the town. It won't cost you any money, but you do need a bomb fragment, 3 Gelatins and a fire fragment. It's likely she won't offer you the bag if you haven't spoken to Clannad first. Did you find her? She's in the house just north of yours. I think you have to get the bag before you go to Orghaill Village because I was going to do it when I got back, but when I did, Darcy didn't offer me the Incendiary Bag again. Oddly enough, Clannad still gave me 3 bombs when i went to see her, so I think the missing the quest has no real penalty.

I agree that a quest log would make a huge difference in this game. That's probably not going to happen, but I would suggest the developer make a world map and include it with the game. It's hard to keep all the town names straight and they're not labeled in the game graphics.

Tell me where you are and between ZuluKat and myself, we'll try to get you on the right track. What have you done so far?

@kimo - I think I've been to one other dungeon so far where the save option is disabled. Not sure why the dev decided to disable save on these, maybe to make the dungeon more of a challenge? Maybe to keep you from locking yourself in a corner when rolling those boulders around? No idea, but the sewer and the other dungeon were both small and the lack of a save was a minor inconvenience. Dark dungeons were more of a nuisance.

Still, I am enjoying the game. It's evident that the developer put a lot of time, energy and passion into this game.

I ended up not getting the incendinery bag and just revisited Clannad? she then gave me 3 fire bombs. So I couldn't get that quest cuz I didn't have the items needed.

Another issue was Laine's image staying on the screen after I didn't sell wyrm egg in Concordia Port.
@ Lady JJ those wrym eggs give a special mana pack instead of buying those mana...I'm now giving an evil eye at those merchants' prices. Make sure to use the skill points up since total amount doesn't go over 2000. I forgot to take notes and can't remember a lot of stuff so a quest log would have been nice. Currently I'm just running all over to different traders to get stuff. Side note you can get a lot of Charon's souls in that tower and level up real quick.

Lady JJ did you purchase any of the stuff from the guy in the blown out western village yet? I've finally stock piled enough gold and was going to visit him again.

@LadyJJ and @ZuluKat
I had a conversation with Clannad many times and she just keeps asking me if I got the items she requested. And I did visit Darcy repeatedly and she only offers me Heal & Tonic, Lifegiver, Adventurer's Garb, and Traveler's Vestments. I made sure that I had bomb fragments (2 ea.), Gelatin (9 ea.) and fire fragments (7 ea.) before I attempted to get the incendinery bag from Darcy, but she's not offering it. And I've gone back to Clannad again and she's asking again about the items she requested. I've visited everything on the main lands where the story started and on the lands across the water.
I'm sure that I will be able to clear the landslide once I get the bombs from Clannad, but she's not giving them to me yet. I've cleaned the sewers twice as well.
Am I supposed to get the bag from Darcy or from Clannad? I'm unclear.
Thanks for any help you can give me. You all are helping me so much!

@polarbr: You will get the Fire Bombs from Clannad even if you don't do the sidequest. After you recruit Cillian and Siglud, visit her and she'll hand them over :)

Hi guys, I'm in the middle of updating the game for version 1.1. Some of the changes that will be implemented:

Change log for version 1.1

- Fixed the game-crashing script error that occured when the player would investigate the "List of Goods for Sale" board
- Fixed the freezing error with Siglud in the Landen Armoury if Laine approached him from the right.
- Clannad cat (Ophelia) now longer freezes the game when close to a corner in the room.
- Laine's portrait in Concordia no longer remains on-screen after talking to the trade merchant.
- Lightened up the darker dungeons in the game

To be included:

World Map that can be accessed from the main menu.

"Might" include:

Journal/Quest system :) (as long as it doesn't corrupt existing saves. I'll test it myself before adding it to the new
game build)

How is the game balance so far? Any enemies or bosses who require a nerf? Are the character abilites "just right" or
"overpowered"? I really want to make this an enjoyable experience for everyone and leave a strong first impression for
my first commercial game, after all :D

This also happens if Siglud is approached from the left. I purposely crashed the demo game to test this.

Love that the World Map can be accessed from the main menu. I'm hoping it will be labeled. Adding a quest system would be awesome. If you can't add a true Journal/Quest system, it would be helpful if you could add a scroll/note for each quest that could be added to the inventory. I don't have any issues with the battles. If I lose, I reload and reconfigure my equipped spells and then I'm usually pretty successful.
