"Laxius Soul": Estimate Release Date

It's normal for games to be delayed indifinitely... some games had delayed release dates for 10 years

Come on !!! A new delay... Again and again...
Don't give a new release date each time if you don't even know if it will be ready or not. Worst thing is you say it on the Dday.
I was happy this morning like :"hey it's THE day I'm gonna play LS.
And... Actually it's big slap in my face ! So disappointed, and not the only one I guess !
I lost all my hope and patience now.
Maybe in 2035...

Making a big game, adding a lot of content to make it a richer experience, takes a long time.
When I make smaller games, that I can release faster/more easily/with little delays, many of you (not all) don't support them.
You can't have a large game in the time it takes to make a smaller one.
I'm sorry about delays and like everyone else I wish there was none, but the game has always expanded since I started working intensely on it, and such expansion has made it hard to come up with matching release dates.
Yet I'd rather delay than give up on extra content that I find interesting/fun to include and that I add as I test play.

As of today, the game is IMO easily North of 100 hours of playtime, with 65+ quests, 70+ bosses, 180+ secret rooms, 250+ unique monsters, 25 (main quest) dungeons and many other things to discover. It's worth about 3-4 "normal" (not small) games of mine. When it was announced for Summer 2022 it had about 40 hours of intended playtime. Of course, adding extra 60 hours worth of content is meant to cause some delays. Yet I believe an addition of 60 hours from summer up until now is hardly the sign of a dev slacking around, as well as it is beneficial to the overall quality and experience provided by the game.
I'm now polishing the last bits.
That game is definitely real, and it's definitely the largest I've ever made since Laxius Power 3.

As for me, I will patiently(?) wait until you are ready to release the game. Your recent games have been soooooo involved that mulitple plays have been necessary for the "completionists" among us. I guess I should stock up with food and water since it looks like I may not be grocery shopping for a few weeks. Boy, this brings back my hurricane memories. +::O_o

But, I have one issue with March 17th as a release date. I will have to choose between a Guinness or plaing the game on St. Patrick's Day. +::Dunno +::biggrin

So, the big question now, will it be ready on the 17th March? Is this an estimated release or an actual release date?
Although I do appreciate that there is no point in releasing a game if it's not completely ready, but it is very frustrating to be given dates which are then subsequently pushed out. I take it there will be a Guide Book. I hope we will not have to wait for that to be written ;)

Delay was to be expected.
Every project of this size requires a lot of effort and concentration to finish, and can be frustrating towards the end.
Giving later release date does not work either, as then you are tempted to slack.

The good thing is it getting closer and closer.
I am pretty sure LS is released in March. +::Thumbup

Was there ever an official answer as to whether LFIII save files can be imported into the Laxius Soul series?

They can't, brand new start and different engine.

That's what I thought was the answer, but then I couldn't find it. I'm replaying LFIII just to keep the storyline fresh in my mind and after 40+ hours of playing, I realized that the file I imported didn't have the arena completed by all the available characters in LFII. +::Annoyed But if the game can't be imported anyway, then it doesn't make any difference. I'll just amuse myself with getting whoever is available through. :)

Looking forward to Laxius Soul whenever it's ready. +::heart

since you talked about the arena ... was wondering if LS will have arena fights... either solo or in group - always loved arena fights

I too liked the idea of replaying the old games while waiting. i played all 3 laxius forcd and now playing the laxius power games. It has been a number of years since I replayed them that they seem so freh and new. I am currently just finishing up Randoms story in laxius power 2. I have always loved these games best. +::heart +::heart +::heart
Ps: I was telling my sister (you might remember her Surfer Granny) about your latest release date and she said to tell you not to make it any bigger as she doesn't think that I will live long enough to play it through (I am 87). +::biggrin

Good afternoon! OK, we can turn a blind eye to all of this, due to the difficulties it has, as long as you give as answers! Who killed Sarah's parents, what became of Brussian and all the rest! Furthermore, I bought the while LF trilogy in 2013, but I have lost the serial numbers! Is there any way we can retrieve them?

Send me an email with the email you used to purchase them
aldorlea@googlemail.com

Some answers will be given yeah.
One will be given now, I will try to get the game ready for wednesday.
I have only one sidequest left to make but after that I have some quick test to run to check out failed quests, interactivity etc that everything works properly basically. Technically those things don't break the game but it's nicer if every situation is adequately handled, and it will take some more time to check/fix that.
