I can't catch them either, i left the Pit with Wendala, but still can not catch any.

You have to try to catch them for a while ( i, actually, also went back and forth in the room a couple of times ) and then Wendala offers to catch them and she does it automatically.

Hint You have to "try" to catch them with wendie in the party a while..

Better Hint: You don't have to try.. Just wait with her in the area and eventually it'll pop up some dialog to get it done. It's on a roughly 2 minute timer.

So, another Wendala related quest, that you have to just wait.
