I'm not sure but the Zombie King may inflict Pox too.

Maybe we will get lucky and the last animal king that we can't find will give us something nasty.

Darn, I had figured out it had to be pox, so have been running all around
trying to find someone to give me the evil bug. So you think Gigantine was
the only way to get it, Dee? +::Dunno

Wonder if any other disease can
do it. I know things like fatigue and cold won't work. +:::|

No. I went back to an old save file before I killed GIgantine. I'm building up now to go after her and see if it works.

Killed Gigantine again and got quest complete on this one finally.

My problem is that I can kill Gigantine (serveral times ...) but not be infected by pox, cos Marine was ko and I used the Ubu KO save or revive from items and then I lost my pox ... (sorry, I translate from french to english !!!)

It is strategic indeed.
But if Marine is infected, then have her defend all the time and be healed when needed, this should help!

Ouf, I finally killed Gigantina, with Marine AND Ubu poxed (ça se dit ?) - but no question to go in a inn to be rehealed, cos they are cured there +::wizard

If you rest at the inn, u get cured from pox, yes.

you got to keep Marine poxed until you finish the quest..dont heal her..just keep her HP high
(you can heal Abu if you want +::biggrin

I have gone back to play the series again. (Playing thru 1-2-3) I got the pox with Marine and when I go to the Guru, he doesn't give me the root. What do I need to do to pry it out of the old bugger?

Are you sure you didn't heal her somehow? You didn't rest at the inn did you?

No, she has pox. I went straight to Guru after defeating Giant spider. (Had to heal her a couple of times to make it to him). I really don't know what to do next. I'm thinking about downloading someone's save file and moving on the MM3 again. I get frustrated when the guide tells me to do something and the game won't cooperate. I try to use the guide because I just started playing RPGs a year or so ago. I do some without the guide, but get lost too quickly in try to do things in order. Anyway (back on topic), I've tried to go out of the forest and come back in and still it doesn't work.

Thanks, Dee. I'll just keep trying and see what happens. I went to an earlier save file and beat the big spider again. This time Marine and Abu both had pox and he still won't give it up! I must have missed something earlier, but have been following the walkthru faithfully (I think) so I really don't have a clue. I will probably go on and get cured, skip this quest and move on.

RowPro, I can think of one more thing for you to check...

Have you actually triggered the Tough Illness quest? If you press 'S' on your keyboard, is this quest in your list? If not, that's your trouble. Go back to Shumen and talk to the appropriate people to get the quest.
