I'd wait until after you've reached the other side and gotten your third character to challenge him. He isn't necessary to advance.

I pick this thread to ask what damages the king of the ants, I just found the Hirado White orb damages 140.. well my characters are level30...

If you are talking about Disintegration for Karine, it's not in the Swamps. It's in the Sapphire Cave in a chest.
