Utopia Mode characters??

I've played the game once and am "doing" it in Utopia mode now. Marine is in my party and I've had all the other characters join my party but I can't switch to Clochette ( a favorite character!) or equip her. Will this be possible later, as I know she's needed later in the game! ? Please tell me how I can do this.....

BTW... Indy it's an awesome game with great graphics (I recognize lots of the art work from your other games), dialogue is catchy, and concept of play so original. I didn't think I was going to like it (at the start of my first play through) as much as I did, but I'm a dreamer now!!

You can press A to put whoever you want in your party.
