Someone mentioned that you lost experience points by using carrot transformation. I am finding
the contrary to be true...at least early in a game. (Just started on nightmare level). Killing a
butterfly by fighting gave 15 experience, but when turned into a carrot, gave 50 exp. points.
That's a big difference early in the game!! I don't know if this is true for dreamlords, but I never
could successfully change one into a veggie, anyhow!! +::Thumbup

Carrots starts by giving 50 exp.
Sometime later it gives 100 exp.
A final raise to 200 exp.

I am not sure when it changes.
What you heard was probably that you lost exp by carroting a boss, which is true.
Most of the time you gain exp, but not always. Be sure to check each time you encounter new monsters.

I've been successful using carrot of the renegade type of dreamlords!
