Forge?

In mellowkat's walkthrough it says there's some bug with the jaws? I don't understand what the bug is.

I created the salcerium jaw first, and doubled boosted it, then I created the bromium jaw and boosted it. I don't see how either of them got weaker. In fact, both got stronger just as they should. The bromium jaw gets roughly +100 ST, and the saucerium jaw gets roughly +150 ST from the double boost. (compared to nonboosted form)

I also thought that forge spoiler was very poorly written too. It should tell you that the first choice is what weapon to create - not what enhancement you want. It should tell you that you can make one of each weapon. That is not clear. It should tell you what ore is needed to make each base weapon, that is not clear. It should tell you the stats of the jaws, that is not clear. It should tell you what attack type each weapon has - it only lists the bow types. It should tell you that each weapon already comes with certain modifiers that it's good against regardless of what you pick.

For reference, you can make a total of 9 weapons. They are divided into 4 categories: bow, sword, staff, and jaws.

The 2 bows you can make, one requires azura, the other requires bromium.

The Azura bow is naturally good against bird/ghost, and has the water attack type.
The Bromium bow is naturally good against humans, and has the dark attack type.

The 3 swords you can make, one requires azura, one requires bromium, one requires salcerium

The bromium sword is naturally good against humans, and has the dark attack type
The Azura sword sword is naturally good against undead, and has the water attack type
The salcerium sword is naturally good against mammals and orcs, and has no special attack type

The 2 staffs you can make, one requires azura, the other requires bromium, the other azura

The azura staff has the water attack type (no modifiers)
The bromium staff has the dark attack type (no modifiers)

The 2 jaws you can make, one requires bromium, the other salcerium

The bromium jaw is naturally good against mammals, humans, and birds, dark attack
The salcerium jaw is naturally good against mammals, humans, and fish, dark attack (yes both jaws have dark attack)

With those modifiers in mind you can make a better decision as to what additional modifier you put on. Also, there is no "fish" modifier, it's called "frog" when making your first modifier choice.

Also I would like a discussion on what you guys decided to do with your forges. Probably best is to make one of everything, and double boost the sword/jaws that can be double boosted, because those make very fine weapons. As for modifier types, I went with milipuf on all of them because I hate milipufs lol.

There's some kind of cross contamination between the two jaws, where the increases are sometimes applied to the wrong set of jaws. That's the basic gist of the issue. It looks fine at a glance, but if you were to set up multiple save files with differing ore/jaw investments, (Just making one jaw, just making the other jaw, making and upgrading only one jaw, making both jaws and only upgrading one, etc.), you would notice that the jaw bonuses are not as simple as it seems. Makes it sort of hard to figure out what the exact bonuses are when the game keeps changing them on you, doesn't it?

And yeah, that's one area of the walkthrough that could use a boost. Maybe in 1.7 again.

I'd agree about making nearly all the weapons first and boosting them with your remaining ores. Getting another base weapon is so much better than spending an entire ore that only grants a ~50SP increase on a specific bow. The only concession I might make would be making all three swords. The Legendary Blade, with the legendary damage type, tends to be much better than any of the three swords you could make. Unless you intend on using a four swordsman party, or expect the potency of the legendary blade to drop in LF3; you wouldn't need all three swords.
