End of Chap 3 - No Solwan w/Shop

Hi,

I'm at the end of chapter 3, have completed all quests avail for this chapter except the video game challenge. I decided to proceed anyway and acquired Louis. When i continued to the right, Solwan was not there in a new shop as the walkthru indicated he should be. I explored all the way to the Adretana transports but no sight of him. Is it because I didn't complete the Video Game Quest?

No, I dind't remember who's this but I don't remember but Im sure that the videogame quest has nothing to do with it.

He was the subect of "Side quest 4- Donate 2000 gold to Solwan (Q 44B)".

He was the Mt. Zulle merchant that "wants to travel around the world. However he is broke and can’t afford to travel. He needs 2000 gold to get started." I gave him the gold. He never appeared in the Chapter 3 final area, to the right of the intersection.

I decided to proceed to Chapter 4 to see what happened...

1. E/o Chapter 3: I challenged Noona to the race... she never appeared in the Palace in Chapter 4.
2. E/o Chapter 3: Rafina the cat woman that I saved in chapter 1 never appeared at the Transport area as she was supposed to.
3. I went thru the cut scenes at the beginning of Chapter 4, on to the party; Noona never appeared for her reward.
4. I began my first quest to kill the rats.
4. None of the items that the walkthru mentioned ever appeared ("In the first room on the left side of the middle bookshelf, of the three bottom ones is a shining parchment. Under the second chair from the top is an XP egg. On left side of the top bookshelf from the bottom is a shining parchment. Directly below that in the bookshelf is a shining parchment. In the top left corner is a holy water. Check the lower golden lamp for a nice message.") Clicking on these items revealed nothing.

At this point I think my game is probably corrupted in some way and I'm going to have to reinstall it and start over from the beginning. BUMMER!

Any other ideas?

The only known requirement for Solwan to be there is giving him the money for the quest. You might verify that the quest is indeed in your quest log book as 'completed'. If, for example, you gave him the money and then had to load an old save file for some reason that was made before you gave him the money. I know that's happened to me sometimes when I think I save more often than I really am.

For the rest, I don't know what to say. I can't imagine the game/save file getting corrupted could possibly have the specific effects you listed. At best, the game would either crash instantly or fail to load your save file at all; not have half-and-half problems like a quest still being available, but not completable. Granted, it would never hurt to reinstall the game and make sure you have the most up-to-date version available. Otherwise, maybe try back from a save file before you talked to Louis and look over your quest log book to make sure the quest was completed.
