Reaching end of the Stairs of Nevermore

I've tried the holding down the up button during the dialog thing, but it never changes anything.
Its driving me crazy... I tried holding the up arrow down during the begining of the dialog and not releasing it... I've tried this over and over but nothing changes...I'm still on the endless stairs...PLEASE, can any tell me what I'm doing wrong?

before random has finished talking, press UP (pass the dialogs using ENTER at the same time), and don't ever release it until you see the ending credits.

Yes, I've done that exactly and nothing changes...I'm still walking on the endless stairs...how will I know when I get it right? I'm really frustrated.

You need to try again, reload and only after you've seen them discussing again, apply the method.
